Fire Flame

A man wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, a gray cap, and sunglasses is playing disc golf outdoors on a sunny day, holding a pink disc in a throwing stance.

My name is George Peters!

Many families in the South Bay know me as Fire Flame, hence the brand “Fire Flame Disc Golf Academy” (FFDGA). I have been working in youth sports for over 15 years now. I am a husband and father of a 1 year old girl who is already a PDGA member thanks to the Silicon Valley Disc Golf Club. I am currently a Physical Education Teacher at Stratford Blackford Middle School. I also am the South Bay Director for Legends Baseball. I pride myself with the ability to inspire and connect with the youth through positivity and compassion.

Disc golf is still relatively new to the scene of professional and collegiate sports. I found disc golf, like many others did, during the pandemic. I instantly fell in love with the sport and began competing in tournaments soon after. I noticed that there was little to no youth participating within the sport in the Bay Area. So, I started an after school disc golf program at Stratford Blackford which quickly gained traction. I have had the program up and running for 3 years now with more and more disc golfers signing up. I have witnessed the disc golfers growth of enthusiasm and love for the game after only a few practices, year after year. This is when the epiphany hit me that it was time to start an academy. A home for the next generation of disc golfer, where the youth could safely develop the skills and tools needed.

Fire Flame Disc Golf Academy is purely about development of the youth disc golfer. Something is extremely magically about this sport. Once anyone plays the sport, with proper guidance, technique, and etiquette is when the sport truly shines. At FFDGA we want to bring this magic to the next generation of disc golfer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
